As usual, we will have a tasting of wines and beers made by our members on the Friday night as the basis for a lively and enjoyable social evening. However, we need volunteers to supply the wines and beers samples.
Wine
Country style wines here please – may contain concentrate but not straight kits please. Dry or sweet, any colour, 3 or 4 bottles are sufficient.
Beer
Richard Baldwin has come up with the idea of an alcohol themed selection of beers for this year (thought I’d make sure you know who is to blame!). I have listed target alcohol levels with examples of styles for each level, although feel free to come up with a more unusual alternative for any of the alcohol levels.
4% Bitter or Pale Lager or Dark Mild
5% Dry Stout or American Pale Ale or Wheat Beer
6% Saison or English IPA
7% Belgian Dubbel or American IPA or London Porter or Strong Lager
8% Belgian Golden Strong or Baltic Porter
9% Belgian Tripel or Double IPA
10% Barley Wine or Imperial Stout or Belgian Quad
6 x 500 ml bottles is usually more than enough.
So, if anyone can help out, please drop me an email and let me know what you would like to brew. I will then confirm with you if it does not duplicate something we already have allocated. I’ll try and balance things out so that we don’t end up with all Belgian beers! First come first served.
